Dr. Petro Protas is an attorney with more than eight years of experience in the legal fraternity. He has expertise and enough experience in several areas of law including, but not limited to, international trade & finance law, labour migration law, regional integration law, commercial & corporate law, land law, conveyancing, criminal law and procedure, and data protection law. Prior to joining ECRA Attorneys, Dr. Protas served as Assistant Coordinator and later on Coordinator of some complex projects on international trade law, such as the Regional Integration Project in Africa (RIA) and the Tanzanian-German Centre for Eastern African Legal Studies which is run in collaboration with Tanzanian and German Partners. He brings to the Firm his immense experience and knowledge in scholarly projects management combined with his undoubted legal research skills and lecturing experience at the University of Dar es Salaam School of Law. Academically, Dr. Protas holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B. -2015), Master of Laws (LL.M. – 2016) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Law (PhD Law – 2022) from the University of Dar es Salaam. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania. He is thus an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and a member of Tanganyika Law Society, a Bar Association for Mainland Tanzania; and a member of the East African Law Society.
